Lorna Bradburne
Lorna rode for eight years as an amateur before turning her attentions to the media side of racing. She now works for Racing UK, is the voice of Newmarket Racecourses and is also Editor of the Thoroughbred Business Guide. She grew up with a racing background, her mother is a trainer, her father a former successful amateur jockey and her brother Mark is currently a successful National Hunt jockey.

Malcolm Denmark
One of the UK's leading N/H racehorse owners.

Mick Fitzerald
One of the most successful National Hunt jockeys of our generation, he won the Grand National on Rough Quest in 1996 and held the title for leading jockey at the Cheltenham festival for two years running 1999/2000.

John Francome
Former National Hunt jockey and now racing journalist, as well as a television presenter on Channel 4.

Nicky Henderson
Nicky Henderson is at the forefront of National Hunt racing. He was assistant to the legendary Fred Winter from 1974 to 1978. In 1978 he first took out his own training licence and trained from Windsor House in Lambourn. He moved from there in 1990 to the famous Seven Barrows, where he still trains today. Nicky has the honour of training for HM Queen Elizabeth II

He has trained over 1000 winners and has had many excellent horses through his hands including past stars such as See You Then, The Tsarevich and Remittance Man, and more recent stars such as Marlborough, the late Bacchanal, Isio, Landing Light, Geos and Fordmont to name but a few.

Captain Mark Phillips
Captain Mark Phillips began his successful equestrian career when he rode for The Beaufort Hunt Pony Club Team for five successive years, reaching the final on three occasions. He went on to win Team Gold Medals at the Olympics, World and European Championships, as well as winning Badminton four times and Burghley once. In addition to being one for the world's leading three day event riders, Captain Phillips has also represented GB in the showjumping arena in two winning Nation's Cup Teams.

In 1989 he designed a highly successful course for the European Championships at Burghley, where he remained the course designer until 2000 and was re-appointed for 2005-2007. He is designing numerous courses in GB and the USA as well as Germany, France and New Zealand.

Mrs Gee Bradburne
Formerly Gee Armytage, most famous and successful N/H lady jockey. Currently PA to top jump jockey A P McCoy.

Mr Michael Caulfield - Chairman
Formerly Chief Executive of the Jockeys Association (1988 - 2003) and now a practicing sports psychologist working in equestrianism, cricket, golf and football. Also a Trustee of the British Racing School in Newmarket and former Racing Post columnist.

Lyn Jefferson-Mackney
Lyn has a background in the health and beauty industry running her own business for 14 years. A change of direction 6 years ago saw Lyn and her husband buying a boarding cattery in Glos and becoming involved in the South Cotswold branch of the RSPCA. Re-homing animals is very close to Lyn’s heart she and her husband to date have re-homed over 500 abandoned cats. Lyn also took on Tramline 6 years ago a HEROS horse of whom she is very proud.

Hilary Parsons
Comes from the West Country where she works in Insurance with a firm of Loss Adjusters. She strongly believes that all racehorses should be given the opportunity to enjoy a happy and secure future after racing. Hilary became involved with HEROS, when they re-homed Ionian Spring for her after she had secured his ownership on retirement. Having closely followed his 10 year racing career she was determined to ensure he would the best retirement possible. Hilary continues to visit the charity regularly to help out.

Anne Richardson
Anne is a psychologist by background who currently works in government. She has a longstanding interest in horses and more recently in racing. With her husband, Nick Attenborough, her involvement in HEROS began when "Thurlstone Rock", their ex sprint handicapper was happily re-homed with the support from HEROS. As one of the HEROS trustees, Anne can represent a user's view of the service that HEROS provides, as well as provide a range of professional knowledge and experience.

Jill Sutton
Jill has spent most of her working life in the motosport world, first as a rally driver and then as Company Secretary for her husband's motorsport business in London.

Jill retired 10 years ago and returned to her childhood passion for horses. She has bred a number of horses for eventing and still owns two, one semi-retired and the one 5-y-o just about to start her eventing career.

In 1984 they moved to Warwickshire and bought a small 66 acre farm where Jill breeds horses, sheep and German Shepherd dogs. Jill also set up a German Shepherd rescue centre and had great pleasure in finding good homes for many dogs. Jill supports the local hunts and enjoys officiating when needed.

Miss Glynnie Walford
Glynnie is the UK General Manager for the Martin Collins Group based in Lambourn. The company manufactures and installs synthetic riding surfaces.

Glynnie and Grace met many years ago and through her racing connections and love of the thoroughbreds Glynnie became passionate about re-homing of ex-racehorses and was delighted to become a Trustee of HEROS.

HEROS re-homed her ex-racehorse College Delinquent when she began working in the USA to launch Polytrack surface for sports horses.

Mary Robinson - Company Secretary
Mary has been involved in the racing industry most of her working life. She has worked at the grass roots level, riding out when younger and became traveling head girl before riding point to point and training for a short time under permit.

She changed direction slightly, becoming a racing secretary and then started a business advising trainers and jockeys on their accounting practices.

Currently she still runs this business but it has expanded to include a variety of clients from outside the racing industry too, joining the HEROS team from inception.
