Rules:
- The organisers, nor any of their officers, servants or agents shall in any way be liable for any accident, injury, damage or loss or for anything that may happen (from any cause or circumstance whatsoever) to exhibitors, competitors, or members of the general public or their servants, agents or anyone on the showground, or for any loss, claim matter, circumstance or event whatsoever in connection with or arising out of or attributable to the show or any journey to or from the show.
- The decision of the judges is final.
- No correspondence will be entered into, beyond that necessary to inform parties of a decision if it cannot be reached on the day.
- Any objections MUST be made to the secretary at the showground within 10 minutes of the results of the class, giving full name, address and telephone number. A deposit of £50 MUST accompany the objection and is non-refundable unless the objection is upheld.
- The horse must be 4 years old or over and the rider must be 15 years old or over.
- Each combination of horse and rider must be registered with HEROS before entering and will receive a unique number.
- The horse must have been in the owner or loanees care for a minimum of 1 month prior to each qualifier.
- The horses placed first, second, third, fourth, fifth or sixth to qualify for the final. In the event of one or more having already qualified, the qualification is offered down the line to eighth place.
- The general rules of the Sport Horse Breeding of GB (formerly HIS)/BSHA/Ponies UK apply unless otherwise stated.
- No stallions or colts are eligible.
- The ex-racehorse must be registered in the Weatherbys’ General Stud Book and the passport must be available for examination with a photocopy of the passport provided on registration. Foreign bred thoroughbred ex-racehorses may be accepted if they have a Weatherbys’ or Jockey Club stamp and have written proof that they have raced.
- The organisers reserve the right to refuse any entry without giving a reason or to disqualify before, during or after a qualifying class, any competitor and/or horse which does not meet eligibility/qualifications.
- Each qualifier will be judged in a riding horse format but the best overall type/performance will win.
- Horses should be plaited.
- The horses will be ridden by a judge in the final only and will not be ridden by a judge in any of the qualifiers.
- The ex-racehorse must have raced either on the Flat or in a National Hunt racecourse.
- The owner, loanee, a close family member, or an employee who has been in the full time employment of the owner or loanee for a minimum of 12 months at the time of entry that qualify, must apply to HEROS for an entry form for the final send an SAE to: HEROS, The Swallows, North Farm Stud, Fawley, Wantage, Oxon OX12 9NJ.
- Entry fees will be returned if the class is full or will be considered on the production of a valid certificate from a doctor or veterinary surgeon.
- If the horse’s name does not appear on the passport or has been changed, proof of identity must be supplied before the entry will be accepted.
- All horses of an appropriate age will be microchip scanned/passports checked prior to the final.
- No rider may compete side saddle in the final.
- All persons attending a horse in the arena MUST be appropriately dressed.
- Poorly behaved horses may be asked to leave the ring. The judge has the right to refuse to ride any horse, in the final, at anytime.
- Please arrange stabling directly with the venue of your choice, if applicable.
- Please check with the show secretary for up to date class time.
- As a winner you authorise us to share/use your details with the press for publicity purposes.
- Tack: Spurs/dress spurs must NOT be worn in any class. Show canes/whips are not to exceed 30”.
- Any suitable bit/bridle may be used unless otherwise stated.
- All artificial aids are forbidden including standing or running martingales. No boots (including over-reach boots) are permissible in any class.
- Any racing injuries and their treatment thereof will not be considered detrimental.
- The rules and regulations of the showground where the qualifier is taking place must be adhered to.
