She did it! Hilary from HEROS walked 60K (37.5miles!) along the South Downs in aid of HEROS. Congratulations!

Hilary set off at 8.00 in the morning and completed the mammoth walk by 8.00 that evening.

She had been in training for the last 2 months, jogging around the local area with her two companions Ludo and Sunny.

Pride of racing award winner 2008 - Grace Muir

We are truly honored that Grace Muir got the recognition for all the years of dedicated work she has put into horses over the years. At the 2008 Pride of Racing Awards Grace was awarded for her outstanding devotion and commitment to caring for ex-racehorses and her success in rehabilitating sick and injured racehorses back to excellent health.

Grace was nominated by some of racing's greats such as Tony McCoy and Richard Phillips. Grace would like to thank everyone who has made HEROS what it is today and hopes she can continue the good work for years to come.

New homes for racehorses

HEROS (Homing Ex-Racehorses Organisation Scheme) is a charity dedicated to ensuring former racehorses have a future when their racing days are over. HEROS re-trains and re-homes these former athletes, ensuring that they have a long, happy and useful life when they move onto "pastures new".

Re-training ex-racehorses

The team at HEROS has successfully re-homed hundreds of racehorses to date and have an extremely good reputation for correctly matching the horses to new owners across all disciplines, even as hacks or companions, truly giving them a second chance.
