MONSIGNOR - our HERO

We are proud to have Monsignor on our logo and would like to thank Mr Malcolm Denmark, his owner and a patron of HEROS, for making this possible. He is a prime example of a horse with a future after racing.

Monsignor racing at Cheltenham - picture courtesy The Racing PostMonsignor was a top class racehorse. Eight times a winner, including twice at the Cheltenham Festival where he broke the track record by over four seconds in 2000 when he won The Royal & Sun Alliance Hurdle. Monsignor’s track record still stands six years later but unfortunately, injury put an end to his racing career.

With time to recover he is now acting as an ambassador for HEROS and will parade and be present at most functions. So far he has competed in showing classes and goes hunting, which he loves.

Monsignor is enjoying life to the full and is a great character to have in the yard. He is known to most people interested in racing; his brilliant but sadly short career is fondly remembered as he had such ability on the track, beating great horses such as Best Mate and Bindaree. From 10 starts he had 8 wins and a third, a great race record.

He was a hero on the track and now he is our Hero.
