RoR is racing's official charity and support's HEROS. One of the objectives of RoR is to promote the former racehorse in other disciplines and the charity runs competitions in Showing, Polo, Eventing, Horseball, Dressage, Showjumping and Endurance. For more details on these series please go to the RoR website www.ror.org.uk The Show Series. This show series is judged under Riding Horse class rules where the horse is ridden by the judge and given marks for the ride and then for conformation. Thoroughbreds must have raced or been in training for at least three months and be registered with RoR to compete in the class. This series is now in its fourth year with qualifiers' nationwide to compete in the final at Hickstead's Show Jumping Derby meeting on 29th June. Those who qualify after the South of England Show in June, compete in the final in 2009. Judges will be from the RoR panel. The Retrained Racehorse Challenge This series is a combination of showing and jumping but horses are not ridden by the judge. Each horse is asked to jump a number of rustic fences and 2 coloured 'bonus' fences. Horses then return for the showing and conformation phase. Racing injuries are over looked. This series is in its second year with qualifiers' nationwide and compete for a place in the final at The Sport Horse Breeding Championship Show at Addington Equestrian Centre, Buckinghamshire in September.
